Third book in the Touched by Magic: Dragon series. Sophia has been taking a lot of time off work lately so that her boyfriend Adam Pierce can train her to use and control her magic but now she has to get back to work because she can’t afford to take anymore days off and dodging the paparazzi, who are a little too interested in her and Adam’s relationship, is getting annoying. The first client she gets, now back on the job, is for Liam Pierce, Adam’s father, who is an important member of the Council (the same Council that wants all Fireborn dead or in prison.) She wants to say no, working for him might draw too much attention to her and her status as a Fireborn, but she can’t seem to refuse when the pay is so good she wouldn’t have to work for the rest of her life and when it has to do with something from Adam’s past.
