The One for You/ Roni Loren/ 442 pgs

This is the final book in a series that I have absolutely loved. This one centers around Kincaid, a feisty real estate agent who just rashly bought a farmhouse with the dream of turning it into a B&B. As with the other books in the series, Kincaid is a survivor of a school shooting. Her then boyfriend, Graham, died that night. She, however, does not have any memories of the evening, which is explained later in the book. Growing up, Kincaid's best friend was Ashton, a nerdy bookish boy who, unbeknownst to her, had a massive crush on her. To escape his parents and the aftermath of the shooting, Ashton left town right after graduation and is now a successful author. However, his leaving gutted Kincaid. For reasons, they are both back in town now and in charge of getting a bookstore ready for sale. This is another wonderfully romantic novel from this author.

The Texan's Courtship Lessons / Noelle Marchand / 288 pgs

I really enjoyed The Texan's Courtship Lessons more than I thought I would. That said, I was worried when I saw that it was the second book in a series, but the author did a good job of acknowledging a bit of what happened in the previous book with the previous couple, without being too confusing. In fact, it was very easy to read this book as a stand-alone.

Isabelle Bradley is not open to courting any of her older sister's former beaus. Amy Bradley has recently secretly eloped and now her suitors have turned their eye to Isabelle, but she is not interested in being someone's second choice. Rhett Granger's awkwardness around the female sex is a bit of a joke in town, but he finds that he is not the least bit tongue-tied around Isabelle. However, Isabelle is only able to offer friendship to Rhett. How is Rhett going to convince Isabelle that she's first in his heart, not a consolation prize?

THE OUTCASTS: A NOVEL / Kathleen Kent / 326 Pages

For those who enjoy a literary Western with a bit of a twist. THE OUTCASTS takes place five years after the Civil War and is told in alternating chapters, following the stories of Lucinda Carter and Nate Cannon. Both are traveling eastward from Texas towards an inevitable meeting in New Orleans.

Lucinda is a 'sporting girl' who suffers from epileptic fits, trying to escape her past so she can spend the rest of her life with her lover. She is also hunting for a lost treasure of gold. Nate is a newly assigned Texas policeman with a strong belief in justice and loyalty. He is determined to hunt down a vicious child killer named McGill.

As their stories move closer together there will be violence, betrayal, and a chance, just a chance, for all debts to be paid in full.
