Second book in the Dragon’s Breath series. About a couple months ago dragons invaded Earth from another dimension and Bailey has been training to be a dragon slayer ever since she learned she was immune to fire. There are two types of dragons, green ones that like to kill and eat humans and red ones that can shapeshift into humans. Aidan comes from a clan of dragons that can shapeshift into humans and he has been training her in secret (if his clan found out he could be executed or banished) and they have been allies since. Bailey kills pure dragons that don’t have the ability to shapeshift however she has been having trouble controlling the urge to kill any dragon, even shapeshifter ones when they’re in dragon form since she fully became a dragon slayer after killing her first dragon. Aidan has been helping her with her training, control and on hunts but then there’s a pure dragon that has been targeting children that Bailey has to take care of and Aidan can’t help her like he normally does. Aidan has his own troubles he has to deal with, his clan has been fighting with the pure dragons for territory, his father the leader of their clan is dying and the rivalry between his brothers and other competitors for his father’s position is heating up. Aidan’s father gives him and his siblings tasks to prove their worth. Aidan is sent on a diplomatic mission for his clan to make allies with a neighboring dragon shapeshifting clan and he mustn’t fail. Bailey and Aidan might be natural enemies but there is some kind of connection between them and they’re going to have to work together against the pure dragon threat.
