Glory in Death / J. D. Robb / 313 pages / Oct.-Nov. Challenge Scary

The year is 2058.  Certain aspects of life have changed.  Technology has made rapid advances.  A gun ban has been instituted, and genetic testing has attempted to render the population healthier.  Unfortunately, murder has not been eliminated.  A prominent prosecuting attorney is found in a questionable neighborhood dressed to the nines with her throat slashed.  Eve Dallas is on the case, which is only the first in a series of slashings.  Is Roark involved?  His name keeps coming up in the investigation. Roark wants to marry Eve which scares her right out of the relationship.  This well-potted mystery was a tad too predictable.  I had the killer ID'ed from the beginning.
