This is the story of Jules Strauss, Annie Barrow, India Bishop, and Bettina Croft, and the impact they have on each others' lives. India is married to Bettina's father--Bettina considers her nothing more than a gold digger. India, wanting a child of her own, and not  being able to carry one to term, decides to go the surrogate route. That's where Annie comes in; Jules is the egg donor. Told in alternating chapters, the story evolves into one of conflict, hope, resolution, and ultimately, joy. I really enjoyed this book!
