Candle's Christmas Chair / Jude Knoght / 68 pages / December Challenge Winter Holidays

Miss Minerva Bradshaw works in her father's carriage shop.  She designs and builds Merlin chairs - what today we call wheelchairs.  Lord Randall Avery (His family jokingly called him Candle because of his long, lanky build and his red hair.) is in need of such a chair for his paralyzed mother.  His courtship of Min three years earlier had been interrupted by lies and machinations of Guy and Kitty Cat Kitteridge, a poisonous pair.  Ran mounts a relentless flower language courtship and seals the deal with an astonishing Christmas surprise.  Excellent references to Napoleon, the Battle of Trafalgar, and the death of Lord Nelson add depth to this endearing romance.

  1. Thank you for your lovely comments about Candle's Christmas Chair. I've been overwhelmed by the reception my novella has received (more than 15,000 copies downloaded in fewer than 4 weeks), but you're the first to mention the surprise Ran prepared for Min, which was my favourite part.
