Montana Sky / Nora Roberts / 440 pages / 5 Gold Rings & 8 Maids a Milking December Challenge

Oh my goodness!  I just read two Nora Roberts books set in Montana back to back...and loved them both!  Jack Mercy was an irascible man who had made many enemies.  When he died he did not leave his twenty million dollar ranch to his daughter Willa, who lived there with him and was equally capable of running it.  Instead, he left it to all three of his daughters with the stipulation that they had to reside on the ranch for one year, then each would receive one third of the ranch.  Tess, an elegant Hollywood writer, and Lily, a timid divorcee who was abused by her ex-husband, move to the ranch to fulfill the requirements of the will.  The sisters are strangers and the adjustment isn't easy.  Compound this situation with slaughtered cattle, murder, kidnapping, and hunky cowboys and you have the makings for a suspense-filled epic by one of America's master storytellers.
