Deeply Odd / Dean Koontz / 335 pages

Odd Thomas is such a wonderful character.  He's modest, heroic, clever, funny, and true blue.  In this installment in the Odd Thomas books, our favorite fry cook encounters some very evil dudes with intentions to sacrifice 17 young children.  In his quest to stop the events before they happen he meets a Miss Daisy like character, Mrs. Edie Fischer, who is in need of a new chauffeur and happens to be one of the good guys with lots of very helpful friends.  Thank goodness for his psychic magnetism which leads him to the source of evil.  Deeply Odd features cameo appearances by the ghost of Alfred Hitchcock as well.  Satisfying book for horror lovers.  Next time we see Odd, he may be back in his home town of Pico Mundo, CA.
