A month after Nora’s dive into the supernatural world of Underworld she’s finally settling in with her roommate Terence , who is a troll (literally not figuratively). She wants to enjoy her new life (and friends) and not attract any more trouble. But when Terence asks her to help man the bar at his club and garners a lot of interest from the supernatural patrons, Wolf the other bartender offers to train her in self defense so if she’s put in a position where her life is in danger again she can more readily defend herself. But she’s still skittish of men because of her abilities they become obsessed with her. So instead of training her at his place alone, he offers do it at his brother’s werewolf pack’s gym so it’s in a public place. Somehow pawning the training off onto his brother and talking her into using her abilities to help the pack find out who is betraying the pack and stealing money from the pack’s funds. While getting involved with werewolf trouble, she can’t shake her old vampire problems, Henry the local vampire leader is practically stalking her and Parker his second his breaking down the walls around her heart and Nora’s succubus friend Cecile is throwing her a coming out party.
