The Game and the Governess/ Kate Noble / 418 pgs

I really loved another of Kate Noble's books--Let It Be Me--but I felt the exact opposite about this one. The premise is this: an earl and his friend/secretary decide to trade places on a bet. The setup for this is too long and frankly, too immature. They visit and stay with a family in the country while working on a business deal. The family has a governess and she and the earl (who she knows as the secretary) begin a relationship. The problem with this story is that the supposed "hero" lies to the governess about who is for 93% of the book (according to my Kindle). Then, at the 97% mark, he and his friend/secretary tell her another lie. A romance where one character lies about his identity to another for almost the entire book does not work me, unfortunately.
