Storied Life of A. J. Fikry / Gabrielle Zevin / 258 pages

A. J. Fikry’s life is not at all what he expected it to be. He lives alone, his bookstore is experiencing the worst sales in its history, and now his prized possession, a rare collection of Poe poems, has been stolen. But when a mysterious package appears at the bookstore, its unexpected arrival gives Fikry the chance to make his life over--and see everything anew.

Wow, what an unexpected surprise!  This was a solid two thumbs up with our whole book discussion group. Zevin is a very talented writer. Here is a list some of the terms used in online reviews to describe the Storied Life of A.J. Fikry: wonderful, interesting, clever, funny, heartwarming, poignant, moving, expected, delightful, quirky, captivating, enjoyable, well-written, and tender. And I agree with all of them so I probably don't need to clarify that I highly recommend this book.
