Hard Cold Winter / Glen Erik Hamilton / 310 pages

Vandiver Shaw inherited all his grandfather's goods ten months ago.  He and his grandfather used to be in business together, a business that would result in prison time.  A former crony and friend of his grandfather asks Van to investigate the disappearance of his daughter.  When Ban drives to the deserted cabin, he discovers a scene of murder and possible suicide.  The plot thickens, of course, and Van calls in help from a fellow ranger.
