Hemlock Grove or the Wise Wolf / Brian McGreevy / 319 pages / Oct-Nov Challenge Scary

I'm sorry to say I absolutely could not get into this book.  It has all the ingredients for a good horror story, but simply felt flat and uninspired.  Characterization was likewise sketchy and empathy toward the protagonists was nonexistent.  Young girls' bodies are being found mangled in the woods of Hemlock Grove, PA, in the shadow of the abandoned Godfrey Steel Mill.  Could the killer be a werewolf, an escapee from the White Tower - a foreboding biotech facility owned by the Godfrey family, gypsy trailer trash Peter Rumancey, or wealthy playboy Roman Godfrey?  Peter and Roman team up to solve the mystery.
