Vishous (you gotta love the names in this series) is another vampire in the secret society known as the Black Dagger Brotherhood, who has endured childhood abuse, and as a result has no interest in love or developing personal connections with many people. His life takes a turn after a life threatening injury lands him in the hospital and under the care of a human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb. There is something about Jane that calls to Vishous and they develop a fast and torrid relationship (over the course of a weekend!); which ultimately leads Vishous to the ultimatum: give up everything for love or let her go. 4 out of 5 stars. Warnings: there is some BDSM, and graphic descriptions of childhood abuse. For those that like steamy romances, this one is a winner.
