The Series:

The "Black Dagger Brotherhood" Series, is about a group of Hot & Sexy, Angist ridden, Alpha Male Vampires; who were named by fatalistic parents that had no sense of hope or humor.  Each book focuses on the personal history (and hangups) of one of the Brotherhood members, (aptly named: Wraith, Rhage, Phury, Zsadist, Vishous...and Butch) and their struggles with falling in love with their one true "mate".  While discovering their loverboy side, they are also in a continual battle against undead humans called "the Lessers" who want to eradicate the entire vampire race.  Not much to follow with the plot, but that is not the point!  The point is to fall in love with each of these dominate male types and discover that they may appear tough on the outside, but they are squishy, melty, piles of love sick, puppy dog eyes and sunshine in the hands of their one true lady love.

Lover Eternal:

"Lover Eternal" focuses on Rhage, fierce warrior and the best looking of the bunch.  Rhage was cursed by the group's diety and when he loses his temper/control he turns into a blood-thirsty Dragon and attempts to destroy anyone in his path (including his own friends).  In order to maintain control over himself, Rhage has to get into fights or sleep around with a lot of random ladies.  Of course, by chance, Rhage crosses paths with sweet and fierce Mary Luce and falls in love instantly, knowing that she is "the one".  The rest of the book is Rhage trying to prove to Mary that his love is real and that he can be trusted ( 'Cause, I don't know what's so untrust worthy about a guy that has been manwhoring it up for over 500 years?)  But, what's great about this series is that JR Ward does a very convincing job makeing readers really believe that these Vampires fall hard when they fall in love with their "one true love".  These male characters give their body, soul, mind, willpower, general intelligance, etc when it comes to the women they love.  And really, what is more sexy than that?  :)
