Roots of Murder / Janis Harrison / 246 pages / Gardening Challenge

I must admit that I've read The Gardening Series in reverse order, but that hasn't in any way adversely affected my enjoyment.  Each book stands on its own merit and is a story unto itself.  In Roots of Murder, Bretta Solomon becomes enmeshed in solving the suspicious death of an Amish farmer.  His brother, to whom Bretta sold her family farm, has requested her assistance.  Although the language is a bit coarser in this one, Bretta's mishaps enthrall...she head bumps a corpse, discovers a snake in her car while she is driving... Ms. Harrison's treatment and understanding of the Amish lend depth to entertaining mystery.
