Bindweed / Janis Harrison / 245 pages / Gardening Challene

Toby is a kind hearted twenty-eight year old man who does odd jobs for many merchants on Hawthorn Street in River City, Missouri.  Oxygen deprivation at birth damaged parts of his brain. Before his mother died of cancer, she taught him well to care for himself and procured positions for him with the merchants.  He washes windows for Bretta Solomon's florist shop.  Toby asks Bretta to come by his house to investigate why someone is cutting down his rows of plants.  Bretta doesn't make the appointment.  Toby is killed by hornets left in a rigged trap in his bedroom.  Bretta is sure one of the shop owners is responsible and is determined to discover whom.  Bailey Monroe, a retired DEA special agent whom Bretta met at a floral convention in Branson, will cover her back.  The motive for murder is most unusual and the surprise at the end will leave the reader with a warm, cozy, happily ever after feeling.

"Evil is anything that causes others pain or harm."
