This old book is a classic story and very satisfying. It is just right for children who want a chapter book or cd and don't want a scary book or book that contains "issues". It is simply a delightful fantasy of a mouse who wants to ride a toy motorcycle fast. The boy who is on vacation at the hotel and the mouse can communicate with each other. I love that the motorcycle is driven by sound. As long as the mouse makes the engine noise, the motorcycle goes.
On a deeper level is the yearning to be "older" that children have so that they can do something at the next level. The book also brings in a little on what constitutes maturity.
