Rough Weather / Robert B. Parker / 294 pages / Deceased Author November Challenge

Heidi Bradshaw, a wealthy, beautiful , well-connected gold-digger, hires Boston PI Spenser as an insecurity guard during an event she is planning in October on her private island, Tashtego.  She says she feels insecure without a man.  Her security will be covered by her own security forces.  Unfortunately, the security force is not up to the job...  The event, a wedding, is disrupted by the arrival of band of thugs.  The groom is killed and the bride, Heidi's daughter, is kidnapped.  Although Spenser is told his services are no longer required, he stays on the case 'til the bitter end.  As always, the supporting characters, Susan and Hawk, lend much to this entertaining who-done-it.
