Hugger Mugger / Robert B. Parker / 307 pages / Deceased Author November Challenge

Boston PI Spenser is hired to investigate two murders...of horses.  He is also to protect a horse destined to win the Triple Crown.  When the wealthy horse's owner is murdered, Spenser believes the shootings are connected and is determined to ferret out the murderer.  He must deal with an arrogant private security contractor, a spoiled, manipulative daughter, two sisters with questionable hobbies and sketchier husbands, a mistress with a disenfranchised heir, and an ex-wife.  Despite seemingly insurmountable odds, he, of course, cracks the case.
