Fantasy League / Mike Lupica / 293 pages

I was attracted to this book by its title and the author cinched the deal.  My daughter won her fantasy league last year and Mike Lupica sports stories are unbeatable.

Twelve year old Charlie is a fantasy football legend.  He knows and loves the game and would love to play first string but accepts the fact that his skills routinely place him on the bench.  His best friend, Anna, shares his love of the game...and her grandfather owns a professional football team, the L.A. Bulldogs.  The ailing (non-Hodgkin's lymphoma) grandfather follows several of Charlie's suggestions to breathe new life into his team.  Likewise, Charlie's suggestions rejuvenate his school team.  This story is guaranteed to tug at your heartstrings and root for football even if you profess to hate the game.

The Rams were the first NFL team to have a team emblem painted on their helmets.
