The Scraps Book: notes from a colorful life / Lois Ehlert / unpaged

The artist Lois Ehlert (think Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Planting a Rainbow) writes the story of how she became an artist and how she creates her books and the collage art for her books.  This very simple book is perfect for sharing with a primary grade child.  Read the book and follow up with an art project using all of the things around us.  Scraps is COLORFUL and fun.  It includes photos of her parents, family home and herself as a child.  I think that's something all young fans want to know about an artist...what were they like as a child!  Really, you could look at this book multiple times and find something new each time.  Fascinating!
