Hunted/Karen Robards/375 pgs./April Challenge

Detective Reed Ware is holed up in a mansion in New Orleans, holding the mayor, the sheriff, among others, as his hostages. Hostage negotiator, Caroline Wallace, has been called in to diffuse the situation. What no one knows is that Reed and Caroline have somewhat of a history. As a teenager, Caroline had a crush on Reed. Of course, that's water under the bridge, but Caroline can't imagine what could have happened to cause Reed to "snap"--if he actually has done so. The story is rife with dirty politics, cops gone bad, etc. Of course, this is Karen Robards, so there is also romance. It was an o.k. read, but nothing special.
