Chicken-fried Rat / Cylin Busby / 94 pages

This book is a collection of Juvenile short stories that compete for grossest. The subtitle is "too gross to be true" so most of the stories are told urban legend style.  A middle school boy is in each story to tie them all together, but he is really immaterial to the book.  Some are actually believably gross such as an old lady microwaving her dog to dry its hair or a cactus that explodes when a nest of tarantulas hatch.  of course, you don't want to find that your KFC drumstick is really a rat.
