Never Hug a Nun / Kevin Killeen / 182 pages

KMOX reporter Kevin Killeen pulls out a story he wrote while at UMSL in a class with David Carkeet.  He dusts it off, fluffs it up and voila...a cute, little funny book.  Kevin can find the humor and the humanity in every day life.  He nails the feelings and experiences of the elementary parochial school boy.  The story is set in Webster Groves in 1966 and features a good Catholic family.  The only quibble I had with the book is that the characters are much too young for what happens in the book.  He has them as 1st and 2nd graders and they seem more like fifth or sixth grade kids to me.  You will get some good chuckles and maybe even a tug at your heart strings.
