The Boy in the Oak / Jessica Albarn / 86 pages / Fairy Tale

This book is simply beautiful!  I have been known to hold a book lovingly and even at times to stroke them tenderly.  This book demands repeated touching.  This cover is fashioned to resemble, both in looks and touch, the rough bark of a tree.  Inside there are many translucent pages that enable the reader to view sketches and print through butterfly wings, moth wings, spider webs, branches, etc.  The story is simple and timeless.  A young boy centered on himself and disdainful of nature, is captured by faeries, entrapped within an ancient, enchanted oak, and is able to free himself and rescue a young girl when he focuses on the needs of others over his own.
