Cloaked in Red / Vivian Vande Velde / 127 pages / Fairy Tale Retelling

"You can't tell a book by its cover" certainly applies to Cloaked in Red.  The red-hooded heroine on the front and the teasing blurb on the back suggest a YA romanticized version of "Little Red Riding Hood".  Instead, we have eight creative retellings and one informative Author's Note.  This quick, fun read is amazing and would be excellent to introduce a unit on fractured fairy tales.
