At least two million lives were lost, including Veronica's father, and bringing thousands of ghosts - individuals reappearing repeatedly at precise moments of their lives. Veronica has also begun to have a teenage boy ghost appear in her bathroom recently. Ghostly appearances appear to be escalating, terrifying Veronica's friend, Janine. Are these ghosts just images, or are they real? One of the ghosts Veronica encounters every morning is Mary. Mary was only 16 when she was brutally strangled. She appears on Mr. Bittner's doorstep.
