Magic Under Glass / Jaclyn Dolamore / 224 pages

"Every person has a reason to walk the earth...Sometimes the path leads in strange directions." So said Nimira's mother, a well-respected dancer at the court of Tiansher(Tassim). When her mother died and her father fell into disfavor because of his gambling debts, she goes to Lorinar to seek her future. She becomes a "trouser girl" singing and dancing in a cheap establishment. She is rescued by Hollin Parry, a sorcerer, whose wife, Annalie, has "died" under mysterious circumstances. Nimira is to perform with an automaton believed to be haunted. Nim discovers that the automaton is inhabited by a fairy prince. She is determined to free Erris from his entrapment.  Good, quick read.
