Bod's family has been murdered by Jack, a hired assassin. Bod, a baby, escapes by crawling away to the graveyard. He is rescued by the Owens - 2 ghosts - married 250 years. When his newly dead family arrives begging for help, the ghosts save and protect Bod. The Owens "adopt" him. Josiah Wurthington donated the cemetery land to the city and was buried in the best location. He leads Jack out of the cemetery and causes him to have no memory of the baby. Silas says "It will take a graveyard to raise the child." Silas, who can leave the graveyard, provides food. The baby lives in the crypt of the chapel. Great adventure story featuring true friendship as theme.
