Daughters of the Bride/Susan Mallery/400pgs.
This is typical Susan Mallery--which I thoroughly enjoy! Courtney, Sienna, and Rachel are the "daughters" in the title; the "bride", is their mother, Maggie. Rachel, the oldest of the girls, is a single mother--she divorced her husband, Greg, when he confessed to a "one night stand." Sienna, the middle child, is the "pretty" one, but is the force behind a non-profit that assists abused women. Courtney, the youngest, is "the klutz;" she left school at 18, and is close to completing her college degree--unbeknownst to her sisters and mother. Maggie was left with three young daughters when her husband passed away years ago. So, this is more than just about a wedding--this is family dynamics at its best and worst! Recommended!

The Charm Bracelet by Viola Shipman 304 pages
Lolly is the mother/grandmother who passes on the family history through charms on her bracelet. Her daughter, Arden, has been estranged from Lolly for three years because she thinks her mother doesn't understand the pressures of her life as a single working mother. Arden doesn't think her mother is very realistic about life. Lauren is Lolly's granddaughter. Lauren is very unhappy and at a crossroads in her life. She has tried to fulfill her mother's (Arden) expectations by pursuing a practical degree in college. However, Lauren is an artist, and she feels such despair about not following her passion that she wants to drop out of college.
When Lolly faces a health challenge, Arden and Lauren go visit her. The story of their family is shared in each chapter by describing each charm on Lolly's bracelet. Heartwarming!

The Story Sisters/Alice Hoffman/325 pages/Four December Challenges Met
The Story sisters--Elizabeth, known as Elv, Meg, and Claire--are close in age and almost identical in looks. They are extraordinarily close. Elv has developed a new language for just the three of them and fills the youngest, Claire, with stories of another world where they truly belong. Elv and Meg grow apart and each tries to win Claire over.
This is a very strange and strangely hypnotic story. It's a story of betrayal, tragedy, forgiveness and redemption. I'm not sure I can say I liked it, but I definitely will remember it.
There are multiple trips to France where much of the story takes place. There is a marriage and wedding. There is a pregnancy and baby born. Elv works with both horses and dogs during her times of incarceration.

Probable Future / Alice Hoffman 322 p.
The Sparrow women unusual
gifts (able to discern liars, to know other's dreams, or even to sense
another’s future) bring upheaval into their lives and their relationships even
to the edge of catastrophe when Stella’s father is jailed for suspicion of
murder when he reported Stella’s foretelling of a young woman’s violent death giving
all the Sparrow women and their loves a great shakeup in this telling of their
lives and their ancestors.
