Teen Titans: Raven/ Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo/ 192 pages/ YA/ Part of a Series

Raven's memories and mother are gone after a terrible car crash. Now Raven has to live with her Aunt and cousin and try to adjust to a life where she no longer knows herself. Soon she is starting over and begins to discover pieces of herself. Impossible things begin happening to Raven and she has to make the choice on if she is ready to look into her past and face the darkness inside of her.
This is very much a read for a young YA audience (like tweens)  but I still had fun with it. I loved the Teen Titans growing up so when I saw that this new series graphic novel was starting and that there was going to be a book on each of the characters I grabbed a copy of this as soon as I could. It did not disappoint! The artwork was awesome and I love how it was used to help tell the story. I didn't really care for the writing and dialogue though. It was really cheesy and stereotypical teen-speak. I felt like it could have been a little more creative and a lot of story pieces could have been explained better. However, the art totally made up for the writing. I will definitely continue on because it was a fun light read and I'm excited to see the rest of the group come together.
