Roland is a lonely character who is on a long journey dealing with good and evil. Along the way he meets a young boy named Jake and the two form an adorable friendship the they each needed.
This book flies by and for being such a short novel it covers a lot. Roland travels so far and deals with so much and you feel right there with him. The novel also has such a dreamlike feel to it and is such a strange mix of fantasy, western, and horror but is blended together beautifully. If you are in the mood for a long series and a fun adventure I recommend giving this series a try. I cannot wait to start the next book!
