In this book Clary Fray must deal with the fact that the boy she loves is actually her brother and that her best friend Simon has gained some confidence out of nowhere to claim his spot as her boyfriend. Meanwhile in the Shadowhunter world her father is going around and killing Downworlders to unlock the Angels sword for some mysterious reason. The amount of negativity continuously thrust in Clarys way at every turn; honestly has me in awe of her. If you enjoyed the first first book you are sure to love the second even more. Throughout the book it makes you hope and pray for different outcomes for Clary and Jace. Can't wait to begin reading the third book to see what more comes to light for Clary and all of her friends.
