Margaret Douglas has appeared in some of the Eve Duncan series written by Iris Johansen. She is the main character in this novel, and the reader learns what makes her tick. Margaret has the extraordinary ability to be able to communicate with animals. She has been on the run from a drug lord, Stan Nicos, who had used her abilities to his advantage. However, she is found, and kidnapped by John Lassiter,a CIA operative. He plans on using Margaret as a bargaining chip to get Nicos to release one of his men who is being held captive in the worst conditions. It's a fast paced novel, suspenseful, and hard to put down. Recommended!
