Front Lines / Michael Grant / 547 pages

This is a riveting book about World War II by the author of the tremendous Gone series.  Predicated on the premise that male only conscription was declared unconstitutional, females as well as males are subject to the draft and are eligible for combat assignments on the front lines.  Each character is painstakingly sketched and life as we knew it during it World War II is graphically presented.  I would like to see this as a must read book to accompany teens'/preteens' study of the period.
