Crawford Hunt is a Texas Ranger, whose wife died tragically 4 years ago. He blames himself for her death, so he lets his in-laws take over custody of his infant daughter. Now, as he is seeking to regain custody of his child, a masked gunman enters the hearing and begins shooting. Hunt saves the life of Judge Holly Spencer, and looks like a hero until he appears to be set up. There are lots of characters and subplots that all lead back to a somewhat predictable ending.
