Dirt Bikes, Drones, and Other Ways to Fly / Conrad Wesselhoeft / 339 pages

Arlo Spencer Santiago is "the number one drone combat pilot in the world - the virtual world, that is..."  When Major Keith Anderson, USAF, calls to invite him to White Sands to participate in War Games, he assumes it's Lobo's Uncle Sal, a local joker and genius entrepreneur.  Whether he's playing Drone Pilot or riding one of his dirt bikes (recklessly, but skillfully), he's in the Zone, Full Drone.  His mom's death and his dad's and sister's problems are all gone.  This is an awesome, inspirational story of an ethical young man grappling with life-changing decisions.  You may not agree with his choices, but you cannot help but applaud his commitment to principle.

"Be humble in victory."
"All arrogance will a reap a harvest rich in tears."  Herodotus
"Life is about little gestures...They ripple into waves, and the omission of them can flatten mountains."
"When in doubt, talk it out."
"Once you go against your grain, you can't live with yourself."
"We are remembered for our highest and lowest deeds."
"Everything you do in the spotlight forms your reputation."
