Blood Land / R. S. Guthrie / 197 pages

This first of Mr. Guthrie's James Pruett books (There are two published and one in the works.)  is a modern day western set in Wyoming and deals with mineral rights, corrupt government, family entanglements, and one honorable hard-drinking sheriff.  When the sheriff's wife is gunned down in front of witnesses - the McIntyre family, a disinherited son, brother to the deceased is arrested.  What happens after that is murder, mayhem, references to Mai Lei, and a spectacular, surprise ending.
