Although Isolde Ophelia Goodnight's father made a fortune writing stories for her, she is dead broke. When her godfather leaves her a castle, she is delighted. She makes her way using the last of her money. Discovering that castle is crumbling about her and is already occupied by the blind Duke of Rothbury, is rather discerning. To say he is less than charming is a grand understatement. He has no intention of turning his castle over to her. He wants her gone. She has no where to go. She decides to become his secretary, convinced that the piles and piles of correspondence contain the answers to who does own this crumbling castle. Izzy's has given up on romance and is willing to settle for a roof over her head. So secretary it is. Who knew perhaps she isn't too old for romance.
