Going Postal / Terry Pratchett / 377 pages / Deceased Author November Challenge

This not-so-tongue-in-cheek critique of the postal service is an chuckle-a-minute and at time dissolves into outright belly laughs.  When arch-swindler Moist von Lipwig is saved from the gallows and is offered instead the job of Postmaster, Moist can hardly believe his luck.  He is certain he will be able to escape this position and resume his nefarious lifestyle.  Unfortunately - or fortunately, as it turns out, a golem is assigned to him to ensure he stays on task.  Against all odds, and his own inclinations, Moist resurrects the defunct service, becomes a hero, and defeats the clack communication system monopoly.
