Bones Never Lie / Kathy Reichs / 326 pages

Dr. Temperance Brennan is called to the Charlotte PD Cold Case Unit because two children have been murdered - one in Vermont and one in North Carolina.  Evidence suggests the murderer is Anique Pomerleau.  Years ago, Dr. Brennan and police detective  Andrew Ryan worked together to solve a series of child abductions and murders in Canada.  The perpetrators had been Pomerleau and her henchman, but Pomerleau eluded capture.  Ryan assists as Brennan battles her worst nightmare and at times local police and the Feds.  Although I had solved the crime and identified the murderer early on, the psychological suspense, and the intricate revelation of the murderer and her motive made this a superlative read.  French names, places, and terms were spoken in an excellent French accent in this audio, adding to the international intrigue and realistic appeal of this book.
