A creative writing and literature professor of a small and undistinguished Midwestern college, Jason Fitger will write a letter of recommendation (a LOR) for anyone, bar none. Of course, most of his letters wouldn't get the most qualified person in the world a job, but then again, most intelligent people would never ask Fitger for a LOR. His letters are always more about himself, his mess of a personal life and now nonexistent writing career than the person applying for a job. He complains constantly about how many LORs he's written, but he never says no. He will go to great lengths to explain that he knows little to nothing about the subject of the LOR or the job for which they are applying. To say he's a narcissistic egomaniac is to give narcissistic egomaniacs a bad name.
The first twenty pages or so of this novel were cute and funny. After that, it lost all of its charm and became a chore to read. Luckily, it's a short book.
