A third in the Pink Carnation series, this book features Charlotte, granddaughter of the Dutchess of Dovedale. She is a somewhat shy young lady who has spent most of her life reading about daring heroes and fantasizing about romantic knights in armor. Reality comes in the form of Robert, heir to the Duke of Dovedale. He has returned from twelve years in India and is hardly the fantasy hero. Distant, distant cousins, they must eventually work together to expose a new spy to help England.
Charlotte is a very likeable character and there are many humorous descriptions. Her other
friends also appear in the book as they were the main characters in previous or succeeding books in the series. Fun book for easy reading or listening.
