Prisoner B-3087 / Alan Gratz / 260 pages / April Challenge Rain

Based on the true story by Ruth and Jack Gruener, this is a compilations of stories melded into one horrifying account of the atrocities perpetrated on the Jews by Nazi Germany.  We view the Holocaust through the eyes of one young Polish boy (ages 6 - 16) as he struggles to survive inhumane treatment, loss of family, and seemingly insurmountable odds to become a survivor.  The dramatic tension inherent in this narrative makes this a page-turner.
