Homicide in Hardcover: A Bibliophile Mystery, Kate Carlisle, 304 pages

Brooklyn Wainwright has recently broken away from her mentor Abraham.  It was not an amicable break and now Brooklyn must face Abraham at a social function to open a rare book display.   How will this meeting play out?  To Brooklyn's relief, Abraham is happy to see her and all animosity is gone.  So why is Brooklyn found kneeling over a dead Abraham and what of the curse of the rare copy of Faust entrusted to Brooklyn?  As is common with a new mystery series the reader meets a selection of new characters.  Almost anyone could be the murderer as they are not yet established as recurring characters.  Along with solving the mystery of Abraham's death, Brooklyn demonstrates the steps required to repair a rare book.  This was an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
