Indebted/Braxton DeGarmo/391 pgs

What would you do if you woke up one morning to find your father has followed through on his threat to sell your 2-week old son, and all of his belongings?  What if your search required changing your name and assuming a new identity because you witnessed a murder?  In 1969, that’s the dilemma facing Alice Cummings. Then jump to present-day.   Myra Mitchell, a best selling author tormented by  the demons of her past has been told her life is ending unless she receives a kidney transplant. She is driven to write one last book about her favorite cartoonist who disappeared at the height of her popularity.  She sets out to find out what happened to Betsy Weston.  Can she finish one last book before her health crashes?  "Indebted"  is filled with lots of twist and turns that kept my attention from the first page to the last.
