Donnelly has written a great tween adventure novel that features mermaids!  She creates a captivating undersea world complete with a mer language and seafood menus that might sound good to mermaids but not so tasty to human readers!  In this book, six mermaids must band together on a seemingly impossible quest to save their world from the devastating power of the monster that destroyed Atlantis 4000 years ago. There is plenty of action, magic, and evil to keep readers turning the pages.  Readers of Rick Riordan, J.K. Rowling, Brandon Mull, and other page-turner authors will enjoy this mermaid story with heroic female protagonists.  Recommend grades 5-8.
