When one of her friends, Cheri, is found murdered after being missing for one year, Lucy Dane decides to investigate. With the help of fellow high schooler and workmate, Daniel, she finds a necklace she had given Cheri, which she always wore, in an abandoned trailer on her uncle's farm. She determines that while she is investigating one disappearance, she will also ask questions about her own mother's disappearance years ago.
