Maggie's magic came as a surprise to her. Her parents aren't magical. Her gram is. Maggie's wishes come ture, but "with Maggie's luck it's only a matter of time before something happens, probably something bad." A bit predictable, but a good introduction to several creatures of Scottish folklore, i.e. selkies and shape-shifters. There's even a rabbit named Hasenpfeffer.
